Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, is seeking an entry-level operator to support roll handling operations in a fast-paced production environment. You will cut, measure, wrap rolls of broadloom carpet or vinyl and ensure colors, widths, and labels meet specifications.

The role requires reading and writing in English, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a team. Lift truck certification or Mohawk certification is required, with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and write in standard English and numbers.
• Some mechanical ability preferred.
• Focused attention to detail required.
• Must work well in a team and communicate effectively.
• Must have a valid lift truck license or Mohawk lift truck certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to cut, measure and/or wrap rolls of broadloom carpet or vinyl.
• Inspect rolls for processing and quality.
• Process roll data into systems (AS400 and Alcon) using a handheld scanner.
• Inspect product for defects, width, color/style; make quality decisions.
• Follow system instructions for reverse rolls and understand color codes.
• Print and apply tickets and labels for identifications.
• Observe equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Replace blades in handheld safety knives; perform related tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment to cut, measure and/or wrap rolls of broadloom carpet or vinyl
• Inspect rolls for processing (cut tape, load core, pull tickets).
• Process roll into AS400 and Alcon system by using hand-held scan gun.
• Inspect product for defects, damage, correct width and color/style and make necessary quality decisions.
• Be able to follow system instructions for reverse rolls
• Must understand quality standards and color codes
• Print and apply tickets and labels for identifications purposes.
• Observe operations of the equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Manually tape small carpet cut rolls. Replace blades in handheld safety knives.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.

• Must have valid lift truck license or complete Mohawk lift truck certification.
• Physical ability to reach, sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
