Qualifications

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
  2. Provide impeccable customer service.
  3. Process commodities requiring specialized processing to reduce risks of liquidated damages and penalties, including classification and application of proper duty preferences.
  4. Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs resources.
  5. Enter data and process various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs, handling all PGAs (Participating Government Agencies).
  6. Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  7. Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
  8. Collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operating companies, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-quality service.
  9. Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings as needed.
  10. Perform entry reconciliations and entry reviews as required.
  11. Follow up on Customs matters and resolve issues promptly.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or GED required; industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months work experience required; 12 months preferred.
  • Data entry/keyboard skills required.
  • CCS and/or Broker's license preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work independently.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Work hours: Monday through Thursday, 9 PM to 7:30 AM.
  • Position is remote but requires proximity to Indianapolis, IN.
