Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and other government agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
  2. Provide impeccable customer service.
  3. Process commodities that require specialized processing to reduce risks of liquidated damages and penalties through classification and proper duty preference applications.
  4. Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs sources.
  5. Enter data and process import-related documentation for submission to US Customs, including handling all PGAs (Participating Government Agencies).
  6. Maintain and update all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  7. Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
  8. Collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operational companies, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-quality service.
  9. Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings as needed.
  10. Perform entry reconciliations and reviews as required.
  11. Follow all government and organizational policies.
  12. Follow up on Customs matters and resolve issues promptly.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 months of work experience; 12 months preferred.
  • Data entry and keyboarding experience required.
  • CCS and/or Broker's license preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work independently.
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, and internal staff at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications

Position is WFH/Remote, but must be located near Indianapolis, IN, and available Monday through Thursday 9 PM to 7:30 AM.

Compensation and Additional Details

Pay: $21.21 per hour
