Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Process commodities requiring specialized processing to reduce risks of liquidated damages and penalties, including classification and application of proper duty preferences.
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs resources.
  • Perform data entry and processing of import documentation for submission to US Customs and handle all PGA's (Participating Government Agencies).
  • Maintain and update shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  • Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operating companies, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-quality service.
  • Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings as needed.
  • Perform entry reconciliations and reviews, and follow up on Customs matters to resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with government and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or GED required; industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months work experience; 12 months preferred.
  • Data entry and keyboard skills required.
  • CCS and/or Broker's license preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work independently.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules preferred.
Additional Information
  • Starting wage: $19.49
  • Pay range: $16.87 - $26.72
  • 2nd Shift: 8-hour shift starting between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM
