Qualifications

Job description

Responsible for coordination of the documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.

Provide impeccable customer service.

Process commodities requiring specialized processing to reduce the risk of liquidated damages and penalties through classification and proper duty preference applications.

Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs resources.

Perform data entry and processing of import documentation for submission to US Customs, handling all PGAs (Participating Government Agencies).

Maintain and update all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.

Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.

Collaborate with internal staff, departments, other FedEx operating companies, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-quality service.

Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings as needed.

Perform entry reconciliations and reviews to ensure accuracy.

Follow up on Customs matters and resolve issues promptly.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Paid training provided.

HS Diploma or GED required; industry experience preferred; minimum of 6 months work experience required. Data entry/keyboard skills required. CCS and/or broker license preferred. Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment necessary. Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills required. Ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work independently and interact effectively with various stakeholders.

Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications: Starting wage $19.49.

Pay Transparency: Compensation range estimated at $16.87 - $26.72, based on location, experience, and other factors. Additional pay, premiums, or bonuses may apply. Benefits include health, vision, dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Additional Details: 2nd Shift: 8-hour shift starting between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
