Job summary

FedEx Logistics is seeking a Documentation Clerk to coordinate documentation for US customs entry of goods on behalf of importers, delivering impeccable customer service and accurate classification for customs release.

You will perform data entry and maintain shipment records while complying with import/export regulations; training is provided. HS diploma or GED required; 6 months experience preferred; ability to use multiple systems and software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs for entry of goods.
  • Provide impeccable customer service.

  • Data entry and processing of import documentation for submission to US Customs.
  • Maintain and keep current shipment documentation in compliance with record keeping requirements.
  • Adhere to international importing/exporting regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal staff, other FedEx operations, and customers to deliver high service levels.
  • Process agency brokerage shipments and may handle remote filings.
  • Ensure government and organizational policies are followed.
  • Participate in training; duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsible for coordination of the documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.

Provide impeccable customer service

Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from database, SOP's, tariff book, internet or customs.

Data entry and processing of various import related documentation for submission to US Customs and may handle all PGA's (participating Government Agencies)

Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record keeping requirements.

Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.

Work closely with other internal staff, departments, other fedex operations, and customers to deliver high level of service to customers.

Process agency brokerage shipments.

May handle remote filings

Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed.

Performs other duties as assigned. Paid Training Provided.

HS Diploma or GED required. No industry experience required. Minimum of 6 months work experience preferred.

A minimum of one (1) year of experience using computer systems in a professional, educational, or comparable environment with the ability to perform routine tasks such as data entry, document creation, navigation of standard software applications, and operation of basic office equipment.

Handle high volume of work. Handle time sensitive work. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Ability to use multiple systems and reference material. Interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, management of all levels, internal departments.

Preferred Qualifications

Seeking candidates with the ability to think quickly while dealing with complex documentation. Must have excellent attention to detail. This position requires you to meet daily and weekly quotas using the computer and multiple databases.

During Training your shift will be Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:30 am. Training starts August 24th and runs to September 4th. You must be able to attend the full training session.

Pay Transparency

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay

$19.00

Additional Details

Shift: Tues Sat 6am to 2:30pm. Mandatory overtime may be required during periods of high volume. In addition, working on company-recognized holidays may be necessary.
