Job summary

FedEx Logistics in Tonawanda, NY is seeking an entry-level staff member to coordinate US customs documentation for import shipments. You will perform data entry, ensure accurate product classifications for customs release, and maintain comprehensive shipment records while delivering high levels of customer service.

The role requires a HS Diploma or GED and at least minimal computer system usage. This is a hybrid position with regular onsite presence during training and standard Monday–Friday

Qualifications

• Experience using computer systems in a professional or educational setting is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods.
• Provide impeccable customer service throughout the process.
• Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from database, SOPs, tariff book, internet, or customs.
• Data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs.
• Maintain current shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
• Adhere to all importing regulations and work with internal staff to deliver high service levels.
• Process agency brokerage shipments and ensure policies are followed.
• Perform other duties as assigned; paid training provided.

Job description

Responsible for coordination of the documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.

Provide impeccable customer service

Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from database, SOP's, tariff book, internet or customs.

Data entry and processing of various import related documentation for submission to US Customs and may handle limited PGA's (participating Government Agencies)

Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record keeping requirements.

Adhere to all international importing regulations.

Work closely with other internal staff and departments to deliver high level of service to customers.

Process agency brokerage shipments.

Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed.

Performs other duties as assigned. Paid Training Provided.

HS Diploma or GED required. No industry experience required. No work experience required.

A minimum of one (1) year of experience using computer systems in a professional, educational, or comparable environment with the ability to perform routine tasks such as data entry, document creation, navigation of standard software applications, and operation of basic office equipment.

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Organizational Skills. Inter-personal skills.

Ability to use multiple systems and reference material. Interact with internal staff, management of all levels, internal departments.

Preferred Qualifications: Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm.This is a hybrid position with a strong onsite presence. Team members are expected to report onsite regularly, particularly during the training period. Location: Tonawanda, NY 14150 (candidates must live within a 50-mile radius).Please note: There is no flexibility with this schedule.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current. Starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors. Permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: Typical starting rate: $18.50
