Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Customs Specialist to join our Finance department in Mobile, AL. The Customs Specialist ensures compliance with U.S. customs laws, manages customs declarations, and optimizes customs duty savings while mitigating risks. Responsibilities include maintaining customs documentation, advising on customs implications, and supporting customs initiatives.

The Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility, located at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, produces A320 and A220 aircraft. It aims to strengthen U.S. aerospace industry competitiveness and meet growing customer needs.

Your challenges:
  • Perform commodity classification for HTS-US & Schedule B
  • Maintain and update classification justification records
  • Manage PGA documentation and ensure shipment compliance
  • Collaborate with customs brokers and review customs entries
  • Conduct internal training on customs compliance
  • Support customs initiatives and projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • 3-10+ years in U.S. import compliance and operations
  • 3+ years in tariff classification
  • Ability to interpret aerospace and maintenance data
  • Knowledge of voluntary customs initiatives and SAP ERP
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Fluent in English; additional languages a plus
Preferred qualifications:
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Proficiency in French, Spanish, or German
  • Certifications like CUSICO, CITP, CITM, CITDS
Physical and travel requirements:

Ability to lift up to 55 lbs, work at heights, and support flexible shifts. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
