Job summary

BDO USA in McLean, VA is seeking a Tax Senior, Customs & International Trade to advise clients on import/export matters and identify opportunities to optimize duties and compliance. You will research HTS, customs regulations, NAFTA, and valuation; develop trade savings strategies; and mentor Associates and Interns while coordinating with BDO experts globally.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field is required; 2+ years in import/export trade consulting;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Two or more years of experience in import/export trade consulting.
• CPA/Attorney/EA or licensed customs broker preferred.

Responsibilities

• Researches, writes, and reviews international trade advice related to HTS, regulations, NAFTA, entry processes, and valuation.
• Researches U.S. and international import/export trade matters.
• Formulates ideas and delivers possible trade savings opportunities.
• Collaborates with Firm specialists and client service teams on engagements.
• Organizes and conducts internal CPE training in the area of specialization.
• Establishes relationships with BDO customs experts in jurisdictions throughout BDO International.
