Job summary

GHY is seeking a Customs Import Specialist to process shipment releases for clients with accuracy and efficiency, while delivering outstanding service. The role reports to the Client Care Manager and supports entry processes across ocean, air, truck, and rail shipments from Pembina, ND area.

The position requires Grade 12 education and preferred brokerage/logistics experience, with strong Excel, Outlook, and Word proficiency. Evening shift premium offered; full-time on-site work.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Grade 12 education.
• Prior Brokerage Services/Logistics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned entry folders and prioritize shipments by ETA for timely submission to customs.
• Process entries for ocean, air, truck, and rail shipments.
• Handle in-bonds, AES filings, prior notices, manifests, and ISF submissions.
• Review documentation to ensure complete entry packages before processing.
• Communicate internally and externally with carriers, vendors, and clients via phone and email.
• Monitor entry dashboards and elevate “moment of truth” issues to the Production Manager.
• Perform other duties as required.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Client Care Manager, the Customs Import Specialist is responsible for processing shipment releases for our clients accurately and efficiently while delivering outstanding service.

What You’ll Do:

• Monitor assigned entry folders and prioritize shipments by ETA for timely submission to customs
• Process entries for ocean, air, truck, and rail shipments
• Handle in-bonds, AES filings, prior notices, manifests, and ISF submissions
• Review documentation to ensure complete entry packages before processing
• Communicate internally and externally with carriers, vendors, and clients via phone and email
• Monitor entry dashboards and elevate “moment of truth” issues to the Production Manager
• Perform other duties as required

• Sitting at desk, 95%
• Standing at counter/machine, 5%

Position Classification:

• Associate Level II/III: Wage dependent upon experience. PREMIUM pay offered for Evening Shift.

LOCATION:

In or Around the Surrounding Areas of Pembina, ND OR Columbia, SC

HOURS OF WORK:

Full‑Time Schedule: 40 hours, 2 PM or later shift start…

• Two Stat Holidays may be required to be worked annually
• Participation in the afterhours/on-call rotation will be required
