About the Role

Reporting to the Customs Brokerage Manager, you will coordinate documentation required by US Customs and Border Protection for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.

Your Responsibilities

1. Ensure compliance with customs laws, import regulations, and trade agreements.
2. Review commercial invoices, bills of lading, and shipping documents for accuracy.
3. Verify tariff classifications, customs values, and duty calculations.
4. Coordinate customs clearance and work with Partner Government Agencies.
5. Resolve issues related to delays, fines, noncompliance, or documentation discrepancies.
6. Work with customs authorities for timely release of goods.
7. Update clients on shipment status and resolve issues.
8. Maintain records of transactions, correspondence, and clearance activities.

Your Skills and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years experience as a Customs Brokerage Entry Writer or similar role.
3. Familiarity with customs regulations and tariff codes.
4. Basic knowledge of import procedures and trade regulations.
5. Effective communication skills.
6. Experience with customs software, preferably Cargowise.
