Trade Compliance Recruiting Solutions is seeking a Customs Brokerage Manager in the Chicago area to oversee daily brokerage operations and ensure timely, accurate filing of entries in compliance with CBP rules.

The hybrid role is based in the NW suburbs of Chicago, IL, and requires leading a team of entry writers, maintaining strict file flow, and collaborating with finance and operations to deliver exceptional service to customers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in imports compliance and customs brokerage.
• Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) required.
• In depth knowledge of import entry process and regulations; HTS, COO, valuation, FTA, PGAs, etc.
• Hands-on experience with CargoWise and ACE.
• Ability to work with demanding deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent team building skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
• MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Train and advise the brokerage team on customs brokerage regulations and best practices
• Maintain work instructions to ensure timely and orderly file flow, including release, and billing
• Perform regular audits on import entries, shipments documents, and accounting
• Monitor problem files to be point of escalation and implement corrective action if needed
• Develop and train entry writers, ensuring they are aligned with department goals and expectations
• Review documents for HTS accuracy, country of origin, IOR, terms of sale, and value
• Follow up on documentation discrepancies, communicating with customers and origin offices
• Escalate unresolved issues or risks before they impact the business flow
• Work closely with other departments and branches to deliver a high level of service to customers

delivery of goods to customers, overseeing daily brokerage operations while ensuring compliance with

CBP rules and regulations.
