Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a senior engineer to lead a multidisciplinary team on medium to large energy solutions projects. You will develop preliminary engineering drawings, work with solutions sales to qualify customer needs, and drive design improvements aligned with client requirements.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in design engineering, strong project leadership, and experience delivering technical documents, bids, and vendor evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of Design Engineering experience.
  • Senior-level experience leading a multidisciplinary team on medium- to large-scale projects.
  • Experience with project engineering proposals, development and customer presentations.
  • Experience in developing technical documents and drawings, material estimates, RFQs and vendor evaluation.

What do you get to do in this position?
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team on medium and large projects.
  • Provide preliminary analysis and development of engineering drawings for energy solutions
  • Work with solutions sales teams and potential customers to help qualify customer needs and potential energy solutions.
  • Performing design improvements primarily to support upgrades and efficient solutions in conjunction with client needs.
  • Providing engineering cost estimates and bid proposals.
  • Managing project timeline commitments to customers and ensuring long-term client relationships

What skills are needed to be successful?

Senior level experience in one or more of the following disciplines to lead a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts:

  • Power Systems
  • Mechanical HVAC Systems
  • Fire Suppression Systems
  • Prefabricated Structures
  • IT Infrastructure
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of Design Engineering
  • Senior-level experience leading a multidisciplinary team on medium- to large-scale projects.
  • Experience working independently and covering the responsibilities of project engineering and technical expert.
  • Experience with project engineering proposals, project development and customer presentations.
  • Experience in the development of technical documents and drawings, in the preparation of material estimates for bids, in preparing requests for quotations and material purchase requisitions and in the technical evaluation of vendor offers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed as (or eligible for licensing as) a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a recognized association of professional engineers.
Training Requirements:

This position will require you to complete (and keep up to date) the following training courses:

  • Health, Safety and Environment Orientation (with refresh training required annually)
  • Quality Management System
  • Customer Project Process (CPP) and Document Control System
  • National Electrical Code/Canadian Electrical Code
  • Schneider Electric Electrical Standards

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
