Explore Minnesota is seeking a part-time customer service specialist to support stocking and visitor services at the Beaver Creek Welcome Center. This role ensures travelers and local communities have access to accurate, timely, and relevant travel information by maintaining brochure racks and informational materials. In a limited capacity, the position directly interacts with visitors and offers guidance on Minnesota’s destinations and travel experiences. This position helps create a welcoming environment for travelers from diverse backgrounds, regions, and countries, while supporting Explore Minnesota's mission.
Job Summary
This is a part-time position expected to work approximately 12 hours per week
- Industry support and responsive customer service
- Brochure and marketing material management
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet all of the following criteria: Your resume should clearly describe how you meet each minimum a qualification listed, including dates of employment.
- Customer service practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer’s needs and meet quality standards for services that result in customer satisfaction.
- Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other concerns. Experience stocking, organizing, or managing printed materials or inventory.
- Effectively communicate, listen to, and elicit information with tact and diplomacy
- Provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence
- Basic familiarity with digital navigation tools (e.g., map websites or apps).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (specifically Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in tourism, hospitality, visitor services, outdoor recreation, or related fields.
- Knowledge of Minnesota travel regions, attractions, and geography.
- Experience providing customer service in a public, retail, hospitality, volunteer, or similar setting
- Experience working with diverse cultural or international populations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify minor workflow or service improvements within established guidelines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials across the building using safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers/stakeholders
