Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. is seeking a CSC Engineer to evaluate and recommend solutions for out-of-manual conditions (OMC) in turbine engine repair when OEMs or regulators lack guidance.

This role focuses on identifying permanent solutions to repetitive issues, leveraging engineering principles and data analysis. You will work with a team to disposition repair paths, communicate workflows, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical engineering degree required; STEM degree preferred.
• Experience interpreting technical requirements.
• Turbine engine knowledge preferred.
• Minimum three years in a shop/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and procedures to maintain compliance.

• Analyze root causes using engineering principles and propose alternative repair methods.

Job description

The CSC Engineer will focus on evaluating and recommending solutions to out-of-manual conditions (OMC) for turbine engine repair when standard repair procedures (as identified in the original equipment manufacturers manual (OEM) or regulatory government body, do not apply or are insufficient. The goal of this position is to identify permanent solutions to repetitive issues.

This position will investigate complex issues while utilizing technical data to disposition and communicate the repair path for the turbine engine component. The CSC Engineer will work alongside a team of experienced department team members that will allow continuous interaction for acquiring the techniques, knowledge, and skills required of the job.

• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Provide customer support by investigation, evaluation, and reporting of OMC conditions on turbine engine components.
• Analyze root causes of OMC conditions using engineering principles. Evaluate and propose alternative repair methods that meet identified standards.
• Document results via technical report writing and maintain accurate records of repair development and component history.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the engineering, quality, and production departments to ensure that processes in the repair/overhaul of components meet stringent industry and regulatory standards.
• Identify, communicate, and assist in solving OMC trends and repetitive processing issues that may impact the components using forward planning and continuous improvement applications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of two years’ college with successful attainment of an associate degree or technical engineering focused degree. A four-year STEM degree may be considered based on other relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• Prior experience using or interpreting technical requirements.
• Some engineering, or similar work experience. Turbine engine knowledge preferred.
• A minimum of three years’ shop environment exposure with a general knowledge of processes used in manufacturing.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• A demonstrated level of competence in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically; Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint including software and the ability to construct general reports.
• Experience in the aerospace industry helpful. Familiarity with aircraft engine components a plus.
• High level of interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of company personnel.
• Read, speak and write in English.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
• Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection in designated areas.
• Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift.
• Occasionally required to lift, carry, push or pull up to 10 lbs.
