Director / VP Level | Technical Sales Leadership | Thermal Management Solutions
About Sheetak
Sheetak is a pioneer in solid-state thermoelectric technology, delivering precision thermal management solutions across industries including medical devices, aerospace, defense, data center cooling, and industrial electronics. Sheetak’s proprietary thermoelectric modules and systems enable highly reliable, compact, and energy-efficient temperature control where conventional cooling solutions fall short. As we expand our commercial reach, we are growing our Customer Solutions Center with talented Sales Engineers who can engage customers at the engineering level and drive design-in wins.
Position Summary
The Customer Solutions Officer (CSO) is a senior technical sales leader responsible for bridging the gap between Sheetak’s engineering capabilities and the complex thermal management needs of our customers. Operating at the Director or VP level, this individual will serve as the company’s foremost technical sales authority — owning customer engagement from initial technical qualification through design-in and program win, while building and leading a high-performing team of Application / Field Sales Engineers.
This role demands equal command of deep thermal engineering knowledge and commercial acumen. The CSO will partner closely with Sheetak’s sales, product, and engineering organizations to accelerate customer design cycles, support complex RFQs and proposals, and ensure that Sheetak solutions are properly specified and positioned to win.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Customer Engagement & Solution Design
- Serve as the primary technical interface with customers’ engineering, thermal, and design teams, translating customer requirements into Sheetak solution recommendations.
- Lead application engineering discussions, thermal modeling reviews, and design-in support activities across target verticals.
- Develop and present detailed technical proposals, feasibility assessments, and proof-of-concept designs to customer engineering stakeholders and procurement teams.
- Guide customers through the full design cycle — from initial thermal requirements definition and component selection through system validation and qualification.
- Serve as an escalation resource for complex technical challenges, working directly with Sheetak’s internal engineering team to develop tailored solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Sheetak’s direct and channel sales teams to support the technical qualification and advancement of key opportunities through the sales funnel.
- Participate in customer meetings, trade shows, and executive briefings as the technical sales authority, building credibility and trust with customer engineering and program leadership.
- Develop and maintain technical sales tools, application notes, reference designs, and competitive positioning materials to accelerate commercial team effectiveness.
- Provide input to pricing strategy and proposal development based on deep understanding of customer requirements, competitive landscape, and design complexity.
- Track and report on technical pipeline activity, design-in progress, and opportunity conversion metrics.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Recruit, develop, and lead a growing team of Technical Sales Engineers and Application Engineers aligned to key customer segments, geographies, and channels.
- Define team structure, coverage model, and performance expectations; coach team members on both technical depth and commercial effectiveness.
- Establish consistent processes and best practices for technical customer engagement, application qualification, and design-in support.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, customer focus, and cross-functional collaboration within the team and across the broader Sheetak organization.
- Build and maintain organizational readiness to support Sheetak’s commercial scale-up, including onboarding infrastructure and knowledge management.
Cross-Functional & Strategic Contributions
- Act as the voice of the customer to Sheetak’s product and engineering teams, synthesizing customer feedback, application trends, and unmet needs into product roadmap input.
- Work with marketing to shape technical content, application-specific collateral, and customer-facing messaging that resonates with engineering buyers.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand Sheetak’s footprint within existing accounts through additional design wins and program expansions.
- Contribute to strategic decisions regarding target markets, vertical prioritization, and partnership or channel strategy.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or systems engineering, with demonstrated success in senior individual contributor or leadership roles.
- Proven technical expertise in thermal management, including experience with thermoelectric (Peltier) modules, heat exchangers, thermal interface materials, or comparable precision cooling technologies.
- Demonstrated track record of engaging directly with customer engineering teams to define requirements, guide design-in processes, and win competitive programs.
- Prior people management experience, with the ability to attract, develop, and retain high-caliber technical sales talent.
- Strong commercial instincts: ability to qualify opportunities, navigate complex B2B sales cycles, and influence buying decisions at both technical and executive levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Preferred
- Direct experience with thermoelectric cooling / thermoelectric module (TEM) technology, solid-state cooling, or Peltier device applications.
- Experience selling into one or more of Sheetak’s key verticals: medical devices, aerospace & defense, data center / high-performance computing, semiconductor test, or industrial electronics.
- Familiarity with thermal simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, Flotherm) and system-level thermal design methodologies.
- Established network with engineering and procurement contacts at Tier-1 OEMs and system integrators in target markets.
- Experience operating in a high-growth or early-stage technology company environment.
- Technical Credibility: Earns the trust of customer engineers through deep domain expertise and sound engineering judgment.
- Customer Centricity: Deeply understands customer workflows and constraints; designs solutions that fit, not just products that sell.
- Strategic Thinking: Sees the big picture — balances near‑term revenue needs with long‑term account and market development.
- Team Builder: Creates an environment where technical sales engineers grow, perform, and stay.
- Collaborative Leadership: Operates effectively across functions, influencing without authority and building alignment around shared goals.
- Execution Orientation: Drives toward outcomes with rigor and accountability; comfortable with ambiguity in a fast‑moving organization.
