Job summary

KLA Corporation is seeking an Applications Development Engineer in Chandler, AZ to develop and implement product applications for existing and pre-release products, delivering maximum value to customers. You will respond to requests, diagnose complex issues, and work with customers to optimize metrology solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration across software, hardware, and systems engineering, with on-site training, customer demonstrations, and annual travel to sites and headquarters.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have BS/MS/PhD in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or related fields.
• Preferred work experience in semiconductor processing or equipment industry.
• Candidate must have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Candidate must also be self-driven, and a strong team player.
• Ability to independently resolve complex problems.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests and perform complex problem diagnosis and problem resolution.
• Work closely with customers to understand process challenges and provide optimized metrology solutions.
• Support the development of FaST systems at the customer site.
• Perform product diagnosis, problem resolution, interface with software and systems engineering to verify that hardware and software problems have been resolved.
• Conduct customer product demonstrations and technical training including on-site training of customer and end users.
• Develop and document new applications of existing and pre-release products, including BKMs.
• Review and evaluate quality of data in other related technical documents.
• Travel to customer sites and headquarters for training on an annual basis will be required.
