Job summary

Seasats is seeking a Customer Software Application Engineer in San Diego, CA, in-office, to leverage Python skills for customer integrations and troubleshooting across autonomous ocean-vehicle software deployments.

You will own documentation, assist customers with new payloads and features, and collaborate with engineering to reproduce issues and drive fixes. Excellent Python and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of technical professional experience.
• Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for working directly with customers.
• Excellent technical writing skills with a track record of KB articles, READMEs, or customer guides.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to systematically isolate and resolve issues.
• Experience with hardware/software integration projects and embedded environments.
• Familiarity with basic networking (IP addresses, subnets, DNS, and routing).

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical point of contact for external customers and internal teams: answer questions, provide support, and guide setup, usage, and troubleshooting.
• Own customer-facing and internal documentation: integration guides, troubleshooting instructions, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
• Debug and resolve issues in real-world deployments.
• Aid customers with new payload and feature integration projects.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to reproduce customer issues, identify root causes, and drive improvements and fixes.
• Develop and maintain customer-facing Python utility applications and tools.
