Job summary

Canby Builders Supply in Canby, OR is seeking a physically active yard/warehouse team member to assist customers, identify products in the lumber yard and warehouse, and verify load tickets for accuracy. You will load/unload, cut lumber to size, and help keep the yard clean and orderly.

The role requires strong customer service, basic math, and safety awareness, with a focus on efficient operations and compliance with SOPs. Prior forklift and woodworking experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely and efficiently operate a forklift.
• Trained to operate woodworking machines, saws and tools; accurate measuring and cutting.
• Lumber and building material product knowledge.
• Good basic math skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow procedures.
• Ability to comply with all safety standards.
• If driving a company truck, a clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service - Helping contractors and other customers find products, load/unload vehicles and check load tickets for accuracy.
• Housekeeping – Keep the yard and warehouse clean and organized at all times.
• Flat stack lumber units and wrap units to protect wood from sun and rain.
• Excellent communication – follow written and verbal procedures.
• Work safely and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
• Comply with all safety standards and follow SOPs.
• Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse or Yard Manager.

Requirements

This is a physically active indoor/outdoor job where you will be providing a high level of service to our customers. You will answers questions, identify products, and direct customers to lumber and building materials in the lumber yard and warehouse. In this position you will verify load tickets to ensure accuracy of purchased materials. In addition customer service personnel cut lumber to size requested, assist in loading lumber and building materials, and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the lumber yard and warehouse at all times.
