City of Montrose is seeking a detail-oriented clerk to maintain and process utility billing, post payments, and assist customers with inquiries. You will handle transfers of service, meter-related tasks, and reconcile daily reports. A valid Colorado driver license and basic accounting experience are required.
The role supports Accounts Payable and cash receipting processes, performing data entry and ensuring accuracy in monthly statements. This position is based in Montrose, CO.
Under general direction, maintains and processes utility billing and collections, receives and posts payments to the City. Assists City Hall walk-in and telephone customers with inquiries by providing general information and quality customer service.

Sedentary physical work requiring ability to lift a maximum of 10 pounds; occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing, hand/eye coordination for operation of personal computer; vision for reading and preparing written reports and documents; frequent speech communication, hearing and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens. Works primarily in clean, comfortable office environment.
