Job description

A Day in the Life of an OCC Volunteer Experience Team Member

Serve with Samaritan’s Purse as an Operation Christmas Child Volunteer Experience Team Member and work with thousands of employees and volunteers to help bring Jesus’ love to children around the world. The Volunteer Experience Team Member provides seasonal support to Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Processing Centers during the shoebox processing season. You will act as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to bring joy to children, families, and communities. This role may be suitable for you or someone you know to serve in one of our Processing Centers.

This is a full-time, seasonal commitment from November to December. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have a desire to serve the Lord in a hands-on ministry. Positions are temporary, full-time (40+ hours per week including Saturdays). Screening includes a social media review and a pastoral/spiritual mentor screen.

Potential Positions:

Floor Coordinator Team Member

Maintain knowledge of volunteer positions, coordinate volunteer needs, arrivals, and departures, and strategize volunteer placements throughout the day.

Gear Store Team Member

Facilitate sales transactions accurately, ensure proper recording, and maintain integrity and organization in financial reconciliation.

Gifts in Kind (GIK) Team Member

Document donations, supervise GIK inventory, and prepare donated items for processing, including de-packaging and packaging.

Greeter Team Member

Represent OCC positively, assist volunteers with questions, and create a welcoming environment.

Administrative Support Team Member

Assist with volunteer scheduling and communication through the Volunteer Management System.

Parking Team Member

Greet and direct volunteers and donors, answer questions, and manage parking logistics.

Drop-off Coordinator Team Member

Manage the collection of shoebox donations, assist donors, and record donation details.

Team Coach

Supervise and facilitate activities within the Processing Center, oversee volunteers, and ensure a positive experience.

Volunteer Placer Team Member

Implement volunteer placement plans, assist with coordination, and represent OCC positively.
