The Customer Service Representative Lead is responsible for answering incoming calls regarding Optum Salt Lake County Behavioral Health Providers, services available in Salt Lake County, and Medicaid benefit plans.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees must be flexible to work any of our 8-hour shifts, Sunday – Saturday, 8:00am - 11:00pm EST (October - March) and Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 11:00pm EST (April – September). Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.

We offer comprehensive on-the-job training, with hours to be discussed on your first day.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Taking inbound calls
  • Researching and providing referrals to providers/agencies in Salt Lake County to Medicaid-eligible consumers
  • Verifying Medicaid eligibility using a computer database
  • Providing additional information such as phone numbers or addresses when contacted incorrectly
  • Completing administrative tasks supporting the Care Coordination team

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • 2+ years of Customer Service experience in insurance, medical, behavioral health, or financial technology
  • Familiarity with computer and Windows applications, with the ability to learn new systems
  • Availability to work full-time, including weekends and evenings, with flexibility for overtime
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Financial Health Technology

  • Maintain security of sensitive documents
  • Have a dedicated, private work area
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection
Soft Skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Understanding of multiple Medicaid services and benefit plans
  • Ability to multitask

Note: Residents of certain states are eligible for an hourly range of $19.47 to $38.08, based on various factors. All employment is contingent on passing a drug test.
