R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Representative (Patient Registration) at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Hospital to assist patients with check-in, answer questions, and collect accurate information with compassion and efficiency.

Qualifications

Job Location & Hours

Location: Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Hospital. Shift: Full Time Monday‑Friday 2:30pm‑11:00pm rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Overview

As a Customer Service Representative (Patient Registration) you will help patients check into the hospital, answer questions during registration, and collect accurate information while demonstrating compassion and building trust. The role requires quick learning of technology, fast typing, phone answering, and the ability to handle a busy environment with patients who may be ill or worried.

Responsibilities

• Work on computers and answer phones to intake patient and insurance information in a fast‑paced environment.
• Input data accurately across multiple screens for physician and nurse check‑ins.
• Maintain speed while typing to match patients’ speaking pace.
• Handle interruptions from clinicians for emergent care and continue registration process.
• Ask follow‑up questions, build rapport, and listen attentively to ease patients’ anxiety.
• Work on your feet assisting patients with registration and complete paperwork.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Ability to type quickly, answer phones, and learn new technology.
• Ready to work in a hospital/lab environment and see illness and injuries.
• Up‑to‑date vaccinations, pass a drug test, and background check.

Salary

Base pay range: $14.50 - $18.99 per hour. Actual pay depends on role, location, experience, and training.
