City of Houston is seeking a Vital Records Clerk for the Houston Health Department, Bureau of Vital Statistics. You will review documentation to determine eligibility for birth and death certificates and ensure confidentiality, process orders, and maintain electronic systems.
The role includes collecting daily revenues, answering inquiries by phone, email, or in person, and printing certified records with accuracy.

The position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, bending and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.
There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air conditions. The position may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, as with occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of a monitor.
Requires a high school diploma or a GED.
Two (2) years of Administrative or customer service-related experience are required.
An Associate's degree may be substituted for up to two years of the experience requirement.
