As a Customer Support Representative providing services on behalf of Automated Health Systems, you’ll have the unique and rewarding opportunity to provide essential support to individuals enrolling in public benefit programs. Your empathetic and patient approach will help ensure that callers receive the assistance they need, making a tangible impact on their well-being and peace of mind.

This remote opportunity pays independent contractors $13 per hour, and it’s a great fit for someone seeking roughly 10-15 hours per week to easily schedule around other commitments!

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Answering inbound calls
  • Interacting with all customers in a professional, empathetic, and compassionate manner
  • Providing information in accordance with established policies, procedures, and privacy laws
  • Assisting customers with program enrollment
  • Routing customers to the appropriate contacts via three-way calls to ensure a smooth call transfer
  • Assisting customers with their communication needs (e.g., relay services for callers with speech or hearing impairments, translation services for non-English speakers) to ensure access to information and resources
  • Placing outbound calls as needed to share time-sensitive information
  • Using multiple computer systems to access data and document information
About You

To support Automated Health Systems, you should have at least one year of customer service experience. Knowledge of public benefit programs and prior experience in health or human services is helpful but not required. Additionally, you will need:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong PC skills, including the ability to quickly learn new applications
  • A positive attitude
  • Empathy, patience, and professionalism
  • Strong multitasking skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable programs, policies, and procedures
  • Good problem-solving and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Your Home Office Environment

To be a Customer Support Representative, you will need:

  • A computer meeting these criteria:
  • Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (Macs and Chromebooks are not supported)
  • Memory: 8GB of RAM
  • Processors: 6 cores
  • Hard Drive: At least 500MB of free space
  • Sound: Sound card (standard on most computers)
  • Up-to-date antivirus software
  • Access to high-speed, wired internet (no Wi-Fi or satellite)
  • Dual monitors
  • USB noise-cancelling headset
  • Webcam
Where NexRep Contracts

NexRep contracts with individuals in 31 states. The states we do not currently contract in are: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, ME, MN, MO, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VT, WA, and WI. We do not contract outside the US.

Flexible Hours of Operation

Enjoy flexible scheduling via a self-scheduling platform within the client’s hours of operation.

Hours are:

  • Monday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET
  • Tuesday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET
  • Wednesday: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM ET
  • Thursday and Friday: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET

This role is ideal for someone seeking 10-15 hours weekly. Mondays and Tuesdays are busier, requiring at least 5 hours on Monday and 4 on Tuesday. Fewer hours or no hours on these days are possible if you prefer.

Pay and Perks

This opportunity pays $13 per hour.

As a remote independent contractor, you can work from anywhere in the US meeting the requirements, saving on transportation, clothing, childcare, etc. You may qualify for home office tax deductions—consult an accountant.
