Job Summary:
Customer Service Rep 1

This position involves working with the public to provide motor vehicle services including licensing, titling, testing, and permits at a local MVD field office. Responsibilities include ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of work products, security, validation of documents, and working in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes and Department of Transportation policies.

Customer Service Rep 3

This role is similar but requires 1 year of previous Motor Vehicle experience or successful completion of training with adherence to performance standards (typically 6 months).

Job Duties:
Customer Service Rep 1 & 3
  • Process credentials and title work, examining documents for accuracy, validity, and security in compliance with ADOT and MVD rules, statutes (ARS Title 28), policies, and procedures.
  • Answer customer questions and provide customer service for vehicle or credential records through system research, document review, and service history. Data entry and review are required.
  • Administer testing, including operator knowledge and skills testing. Conduct level I vehicle inspections, including VIN validation. Capture customer photos, signatures, and application information for credential issuance.
  • Determine, collect, and evaluate fees, using general accounting procedures to balance accounts. Secure and protect all personal identity information (PII) and inventory.
  • Participate in process improvement activities, including the use and application of the Arizona Management System. Identify potential process gaps and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge of: ADOT MVD rules, regulations, processes, and procedures; customer service principles and best practices.
  • Skill in: Verbal and written communication with a customer-centric focus; typing or keyboarding at a productive rate.
  • Ability to: Adapt to changing environments, work long periods standing or sitting, operate a PC and MVD software effectively.
Selective Preferences:
  • CSR 1: Experience in customer service, cash handling, and data entry preferred.
  • CSR 3: 1-year previous MVD experience in T/R and DL with successful training completion.
Pre-Employment Requirements:

Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license. If driving is an essential function, additional requirements include maintaining a current, valid driver’s license, completing required training, and passing driver’s license record checks. Also, maintaining statutory liability insurance if using a personal vehicle on state business. All new hires must complete E-Verify.
