Responsibilities

• Greets customers as they enter and thanks them as they leave.
• Offers assistance and suggestions to customers.
• Rings up all sales on the cash register accurately, handling cash, checks, and other payment methods.
• Operates fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and telecom transactions.
• Maintains store facility and equipment by cleaning and performing housekeeping duties.
• Performs inspections of store facilities and equipment for safety and cleanliness.
• Notifies the Store Manager of equipment failure or supply needs.
• Completes build‑to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise and verifies vendor deliveries.
• Maintains adequate stock throughout the store, including rotation and counter area supplies.
• Places advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility.
• Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
• Keeps accurate cash, sales, and inventory control records and reports discrepancies to the Store Manager.
• Reports all incidents such as employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation or waste disposal.
• Maintains accurate records of shift and timekeeping paperwork.
• May take inventory of supplies and equipment, attend job‑related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment, including cash registers and scanners, beverage dispensers, and other machines.
• Ability to work as scheduled, including arriving on time.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly to others.
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below.
• Ability to work in the conditions described below.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in a walk‑in cooler or freezer and outdoors.
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead.
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
• Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for the entire shift.
• Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
• Ability to reach overhead for objects.
• Ability to bend and twist at the waist.
• Ability to communicate orally.
• Ability to operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull as needed.
• Ability to work alone.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• May require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs.

Work Environment

• Perform approximately 95% of work indoors, with occasional tasks such as cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, and taking out garbage.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while performing occasional work in a walk‑in cooler and/or freezer.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
