Job Summary

The Client Service Representative’s main responsibility is to provide exceptional client service while maintaining a smooth and efficient flow of clients and patients through the animal hospital. More specifically, the CSR is responsible for greeting clients, determining the needs of the clients and patients, and completing the check-in and check-out process. The position requires a practical knowledge of the clinic’s procedures and policies. The CSR is expected to perform office duties related to patient care and treatment and to assist the Hospital Manager and doctors as needed.

Job Details

  • This is a full-time or part-time position; scheduled days and hours may vary based on hospital need. Weekend work - every other Saturday 8am-noon. Standing and some heavy lifting may be involved.
  • The CSR reports to the Hospital Manager and in his/her absence, the Managing doctor.

Responsibilities and Duties

Client Service: Before a Visit
  • Professionally receives incoming calls, schedules appointments, and updates patient charts.
  • Maintains waiting area cleanliness and demonstrates emergency procedures knowledge.
Client Service: During a Visit
  • Greets clients, assists with check-in/out, and communicates client needs to staff.
  • Completes necessary forms, schedules follow-up appointments, and assists distressed clients.
Client Service: Following a Visit
  • Educates clients, follows up post-visit, and prepares correspondence and educational materials.
Operational and Financial
  • Ensures front office cleanliness, manages supplies, and assists with special projects.
  • Prepares invoices, manages payments, and balances cash drawer.
Medical and Knowledge Skills
  • Knowledge of medical terms, products, and animal breeds.
  • Assists with medication prescriptions and educates clients on products and services.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and work well in a team.
Abilities
  • Professional, courteous, flexible, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage time effectively.

Pay Range: from $16/hour, with a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment.
