Job summary

San Antonio Animal Hospital is seeking a friendly veterinary receptionist to welcome clients and their pets, schedule appointments, and handle inquiries in a fast-paced environment.

You will check clients in/out, maintain records, process payments, and coordinate with doctors and technicians to ensure smooth hospital flow. Weekend hours may be required, and AmeriVet support is provided to help your growth and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Prior customer service experience in a veterinary, healthcare or reception setting is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to provide compassionate, client-focused service.
  • Basic proficiency with technology, including scheduling software and online communication platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, even during busy periods.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and respond to client inquiries.
  • Check clients and patients in and out.
  • Maintain accurate client and patient information.
  • Communicate appointment instructions, medication information, and doctor recommendations as directed by the medical team.
  • Process payments and assist with estimates and invoices.
  • Manage prescription and food refill requests according to hospital protocols.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, doctors, and veterinary technicians.
  • Follow up with clients regarding appointments, test results, reminders, and other hospital communications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
  • Handle client concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Help create a positive experience for every client and patient.
