Job summary

Great Lakes Animal Hospital is seeking a friendly, organized Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our team. As the first and last point of contact for our clients, you will help create a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate experience for both pets and their owners in a fast-paced veterinary setting.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, prior customer service experience, and the ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in appointments, billing, and records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service experience required; veterinary or medical office experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer proficiency; experience with veterinary software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
• Manage incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and triage client inquiries appropriately
• Check clients in and out, ensuring accuracy of patient information and services rendered
• Process payments, provide estimates, and discuss financial policies with confidence and clarity
• Maintain accurate medical records and client communications in the practice management system
• Coordinate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure smooth patient flow
• Educate clients on hospital services, wellness plans, and preventative care recommendations
• Handle difficult or emotional situations with empathy and professionalism
• Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
