Position Overview:

We are looking for a patient-focused and detail-oriented Part-Time Remote Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and families, providing outstanding service and accurate information related to scheduling, billing, general inquiries, and more. This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, organized, and thrives in a remote, fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle inbound calls, emails, and messages from patients, families, and healthcare providers with professionalism and empathy.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, billing inquiries, and service navigation.
  • Accurately document interactions in patient management systems and follow up on unresolved issues.
  • Provide information about Beth Israel Lahey Health services, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve patient concerns or route inquiries appropriately.
  • Ensure all communications comply with HIPAA and patient privacy standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare or call center setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort using patient management software or CRM systems.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing excellent service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and health insurance processes.
