Description

American Specialty Health is searching for exceptional customer service professionals to join our high-volume call center to assist our members by providing outstanding customer service nationwide for our specialty network programs. This role involves responding to customer inquiries and providing information about all aspects of the members’ association with ASH, supporting our mission to empower individuals to live healthier and longer lives.

Full-time employees: starting pay at $15/hour with potential to increase to $16/hour within the first year, plus merit-based increases. Additional bonuses are available based on meeting Key Job Accountabilities (KJA) after 6, 12, and 24 months.

Seasonal and temporary workers: Starting pay at $15/hour.

Remote Worker Considerations

Selected candidates will be trained remotely and must be able to work from a designated home workspace with company-provided technology. Reliable internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload) is required for participation in online meetings via video.

Responsibilities

  1. Answer incoming calls professionally, accurately, and courteously.
  2. Determine the nature of each call and record details in the Communication Log.
  3. Use proprietary ASH systems to look up member information and provide assistance.
  4. Forward logs needing further research to appropriate departments.
  5. Transfer complex questions to relevant queues (claims, authorizations, etc.).
  6. Utilize online resources to provide timely responses.
  7. Manage call times and follow-up activities efficiently.
  8. Meet or exceed established key job accountabilities.
  9. Document all calls appropriately.
  10. Participate in weekly staff meetings and team discussions.
  11. Respond to requests from internal and external customers as needed.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least one year of customer service experience; inbound call center experience preferred.
  3. Basic computer skills.
  4. Excellent verbal communication skills.
