American Airlines is seeking a Full-Time Customer Service Coordinator at the Nashville International Airport.

The Customer Service Coordinator interacts with customers in a courteous, efficient, friendly, and professional manner. Starting pay is $22.07 per hour.

What you'll do
  • Promote and sell air travel to the traveling public or freight forwarders
  • Provide assistance with passenger check-in and cargo acceptance
  • Interpret government rules and requirements for domestic and international travel or cargo shipments
  • Meet and dispatch aircraft within established times
  • Assist distressed passengers and customers
  • Protect company property and revenue
  • Ensure safe travel
  • Possess the physical ability and dexterity to perform various job-related tasks
  • Use organizational skills to perform multiple tasks within a limited time
  • Be self-motivated and require minimal supervision
  • Respond and assist during security and emergency situations
  • Follow internal/external policies and procedures
  • May be required to drive and operate air stairs for various aircraft to enplane and deplane passengers
  • Be responsible for overall performance within the work area and may lead and direct other employees
  • Perform Passenger Operation Control functions, including air-to-ground communication and Tower functions

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Fluent reading, writing, speaking, and understanding of English
  • Bilingual skills required in some locations
  • Applicable valid driver’s license as required by local authorities
  • Must pass FAA criminal background checks for unescorted access to airport security areas (SIDA), if applicable
  • Must secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
  • Ability to work irregular and extended hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Must report to work regularly and punctually
