Ozinga Bros, Inc. is seeking a Customer and Sales Support Specialist to back multiple cement-group departments in Lansing, IL. The role interfaces with Sales, Billing, Logistics, and Operations to ensure pricing accuracy, freight reliability, and timely customer commitments.

Key duties include price entry, freight coordination, Salesforce management, and proactive customer communication. On-site presence is required; strong Excel/Office and logistics knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of pricing, freight, logistics, or construction materials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with price entry, quote preparation, and pricing documentation.
  • Coordinate freight considerations as part of bid and quote development.
  • Help manage Salesforce opportunities, quotes, customer information, and related sales activity when Market Managers are customer-facing.
  • Provide timely internal follow-up on customer needs, project requirements, and commercial commitments.
  • Support communication between the sales team and internal departments to keep customer commitments moving forward.
  • Respond to requests from internal and external customers about pricing concerns, ticket issues, and invoice and ticket requests.
  • Coordinate between Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Dispatch to resolve any issues with customer orders or tickets.
  • Accept Sales Tax Exempt Certificates, review for accuracy, and code order and customer accounts correctly.
  • Support Market Managers with customer communication related to payment status, billing questions, and account maintenance.
  • Coordinate freight solutions across truck, rail, and barge to support reliable and competitive project execution.
  • Help resolve on-site, in-transit, or scheduling issues that may impact customer service.
  • Maintain carrier information within Apex to support compliant and dependable freight execution.
  • Provide freight cost, timing, and availability input to support pricing and customer commitments.
  • Maintain oversight of barge movements, barge status, and related inventory visibility.
  • Provide updates on supply timing, availability, and logistical constraints.
  • Support sales planning by communicating supply risks, delays, or timing issues.
  • Assist Market Managers in understanding supply timing before customer commitments are finalized.
  • Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position.

Pay Range: $26.15 - $32.00 Per Hour

Summary:

The Customer and Sales Support Specialist will support multiple departments in the cement group including Sales, Billing, and Logistics. The role serves as a key coordination point between sales, accounts receivable, logistics, operations, and customers to help ensure pricing accuracy, freight reliability, timely communication, and effective execution of customer commitments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include:
Sales & Commercial Support
  • Assist with price entry, quote preparation, and pricing documentation
  • Coordinate freight considerations as part of bid and quote development

Qualifications
Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of pricing, freight, logistics, or construction materials preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in customer support, transportation management, or a related field preferred
Skills/Abilities
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn and use systems such as Salesforce, Apex, and other internal pricing, tracking, billing or AR tools
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with internal teams, customers, and external partners
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in tracking shipments and handling billing
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to billing, tracking discrepancies, and logistics coordination
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate with various teams while maintaining a proactive and solution-oriented approach
