Qualifications

Job description

As a Customer Service Representative at Applied Industrial Technologies, you will provide expert assistance to customers through phone and in‑person interactions, clarify their needs, recommend parts, and handle orders and post‑order service. You’ll also support customers during equipment breakdowns and may use mechanical skills to resolve product issues.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers by phone and in person at our facility
• Clarify needs, research, and recommend parts after gaining product knowledge
• Achieve and exceed monthly sales goals while enhancing customer satisfaction
• Process quotes, take orders, and provide post‑order service

Requirements

• Self‑motivated and driven to exceed expectations
• Strong prioritization, multitasking, sense of urgency, and excellent verbal and written communication
• Interpersonal skills to establish rapport and build solid relationships with a wide variety of customers

Qualifications

• 6 months of customer service experience preferred
• Excellent telephone and written skills, including English grammar
• Ability and desire to learn new systems and processes quickly
• Comfortable with computers, basic Microsoft Office (Outlook & Excel) and Google search
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR)
• SAP/ERP experience preferred but not required
• Some knowledge of industrial distribution products and hydraulics preferred but not required
• Attention to detail, accuracy, multitasking ability, sense of humor
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
