Gertens in Loretto, Kentucky, is seeking a Customer Sales Representative to greet customers, recommend products, and maintain a welcoming store and garden center. The role supports weekend hours and open/close shifts, with up to 20 hours per week.

You will operate the cash register, handle payments, assist with live chicks and seasonal items, stock displays, and help with carry-out service while delivering friendly, customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 to cross train on warehouse equipment.
• 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
• Availability to work weekend hours and opening or closing shifts.
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.

Customer Sales Representative - Openers and Closers Needed

Salary Range: $15.00 To $17.00 Hourly

At Spikes and Houles in Loretto we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and provide exceptional service for our customers! If you love working with people and are ready to take on a fun, fast-paced environment, we want YOU! This position will offer up to 20 hours/week. Candidates must be available to work weekend hours as well as opening OR closing shifts during the week.

As a Customer Sales Representative, you’ll be helping customers with their needs both inside the store and the garden center, whether it's selecting the perfect feed, offering expert advice, or assisting with our wide variety of lawn and garden products. You’ll be at the heart of our store, ensuring our customers have an exceptional experience while:

• Greeting customers and providing personalized solutions.
• Assisting with product recommendations, warranties, and replacement parts.
• Keeping the store organized and stocked with seasonal items.
• Operating cash registers and managing payment transactions.
• Maintaining outdoor displays and helping customers with their purchases, including our carry-out service.
• Safely handling live chicks and other seasonal products.
• Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment to safely unload trucks and pull customer orders.
• Contributing to the store’s visual displays and keeping everything neat and tidy.

Essential Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age to cross train on warehouse equipment.
• 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
• Availability to work weekend hours and Opening or Closing shifts (this is essential for the role!).
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks (bending, stooping, etc.).
• A love for customer service, with excellent communication and listening skills!
