Job summary

The Timken Company is seeking a Customer Relations Management Representative to provide proactive account management across the order-to-cash process. You will be the primary contact for customers, resolving inquiries and collaborating with Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing to meet requirements.

You will analyze customer needs, maintain data accuracy, and drive growth within existing accounts while ensuring on-time delivery and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 1-3 years of relative experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Experience in the Manufacturing Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer accounts through all phases of the order-to-cash process, including quotations, order entry, forecasting, expediting, order book management, and maintenance of customer master data.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries, issues, and requests while delivering a best-in-class customer experience.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other internal stakeholders to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing responsive communication, proactive account management, and effective problem resolution.
  • Analyze customer needs, ordering patterns, pricing structures, and service-level requirements to identify opportunities for improved performance and growth.
  • Support revenue growth and customer retention by maintaining customer loyalty and identifying opportunities to expand business within existing accounts.
  • Monitor and manage order fulfillment activities, ensuring accurate order processing, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize advanced problem-solving skills to address complex customer, operational, and supply chain challenges.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, and supply chain operations to effectively support customer accounts and business needs.
  • Analyze and present account data, trends, and performance metrics to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and customer account documentation using Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal partners to ensure alignment, transparency, and successful execution of customer requirements.

Position Summary:

The Customer Relations Management Representative provides proactive account management to support business growth and deliver best-in-class customer experience. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, managing a broad range of activities throughout the order-to-cash process. The representative is responsible for resolving complex customer inquiries and issues, often requiring advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely and effective solutions.

Essential Job Duties:

Qualifications:
  • Required:
    • High school diploma with 1-3 years of relative experience
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
    • Experience in the Manufacturing Industry
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor's degree in business management, Marketing, Communications or Supply Chain.
    • SAP experience and strong analytical skills
    • Experience with Timken Systems (SAP, PTPlace)
    • Experience in process improvement, project management, or change management
Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables; problem solving ability.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands/arms. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear at conversational level, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Moving/lifting greater than 50 pounds requires assistance from another employee or a lifting device/hoist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Required Personal Protective Equipment

Employees are required to wear proper safety eyewear, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes always while on the plant floor.

The yearly compensation for this role is $45,920-$64,170, is commensurate on experience and education, and could pay more or less than the posted range. This full-time position is eligible to participate in the company's short-term incentive program, paid time off plan, 401k, and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
