Job summary

EMR is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to ensure safety, quality, and smooth operations at our outdoor facility. You will inspect loads for debris, prevent hazardous materials from entering processing, and direct site traffic while maintaining up-to-date safety practices.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to work in various weather conditions, including near heavy machinery. Prior QA experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED-equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Prior experience in Quality Assurance preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Quality inspection of loads to ensure materials are debris-free.
  • Quality checks to prevent hazardous materials entering processing.
  • Determine deductions from loads for unwanted materials.
  • Direct site traffic for all trucks in and out of the facility.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Quality Assurance Inspector at EMR plays a vital role in ensuring safety, quality, and smooth operations. This role is active, engaging, and outdoors focused. You'll work in various weather conditions and occasionally near heavy machinery. Your work will involve using modern communication tools and fostering positive interactions with diverse individuals daily.

What You’ll Do:
  • Responsible for quality inspection of loads to ensure materials are free from debris such as concrete, dirt, trash, etc.
  • Performs quality checks to prevent hazardous materials, such as lithium batteries or propane and gasoline tanks from entering stream for processing.
  • Determines deductions from loads if unwanted materials.
  • Directs all site traffic for all trucks in and out of the facility.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and practices.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Other Job Demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the Quality Assurance Inspector will be in an environment of field work. The employee may be working near moving mechanical parts and will be in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and require ear protection. The employee is required to sit, walk and stand for periods of time. This job also requires: frequent bending, kneeling and standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., working in confined spaces, and ability to work in high/low temperatures. The employee may be required to use a computer for extended periods of time. Communication will be via telephone, mobile phone, email, text and in-person with others to exchange accurate information.
