Job summary

ABB in the United States is seeking a qualified engineer to support end-to-end resolution of post-sale customer requests. You will resolve warranty products, customer complaints and disputes promptly to ensure customer satisfaction and highlight repetitive failures for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of experience in electrical equipment design, manufacturing, or testing.
  • Alternatively, HS Diploma/GED with 8+ years of relevant electrical design, manufacturing, or testing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve post-sale customer requests/complaints/disputes.
  • Track disputes and coordinate with relevant functions for faster resolution.
  • Provide solutions for customer claims and ensure containment actions, returns, credits, and/debits are processed.
  • Collect and archive documentation of requests/claims/disputes within the target timeline and close in systems.

This position reports to:

Quality Manager


Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support with the accurate end-to-end resolution of post-sale customer requests. Each day, you will assist in resolving warranty products, customer complaints and disputes in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by analyzing trends within the claims process to highlight any repetitive failures to further support continuous improvement.


This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions Division in the United States.


You will be mainly accountable for:


  • Ensuring the resolution of post-sale customer requests/complaints/disputes.

  • Tracking any disputes that arise and proactively coordinating with the necessary functions to ensure faster resolution.

  • Working with the manager in providing appropriate solution for customer claims, coordinating with the related teams to ensure complete handling of the complaints, and ensuring containment actions, returns, credits, and/or debits are processed.

  • Collecting and archiving the documentation regarding requests/claims/disputes within the target timeline and ensuring all outcomes/actions are recorded and closed in the systems within your scope of responsibility.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical equipment design, manufacturing, or testing, OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in electrical equipment design, manufacturing, or testing.

  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and working well with others across business functions

  • Proven analytical and organizational ability

  • Electrical distribution equipment experience, low or medium voltage switchgear design, manufacturing, application, or operation

  • Experience with SAP and or Sales Force.com

  • Demonstrated verbal and written Communication skills

  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel. Outlook, and Teams

  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States

ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.


While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $83,300 and $133,280 annually.
