About the job: Position Summary

The Customer Funding Desk (CFD) Associate will support the Americas Customer Funding Desk in the day-to-day commercial and operational management of the liquidity business. The role is responsible for supporting Business-As-Us-ual (BAU) activities, coordinating the daily renewal of customer funding transactions, assisting with transaction booking, preparing commercial materials, managing reporting and analytics, supporting client onboarding, and contributing to strategic initiatives across the liquidity business. The Associate will work closely with Sales, Relationship Managers, Operations, Finance, and Product teams to ensure the efficient execution of commercial opportunities and ongoing client activity. This position is designed for a highly organized, analytical, and technology-driven professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced international banking environment. The Associate will partner closely with senior sales professionals and relationship managers while gaining exposure to liquidity products, client management, sales strategy, innovation initiatives, and cross-functional projects throughout BBVA's Corporate & Investment Banking platform. The role provides a structured development path toward promotion to Senior Associate and, over time, increased client-facing responsibilities within the Customer Funding Desk.

Key Responsibilities
Business Management and Administrative Support

Support the Head of Customer Funding Desk in the day-to-day management of the Americas business. Coordinate meetings, internal communications, project follow-up, calendars, and action items across multiple stakeholders. Prepare agendas, meeting materials, minutes, executive summaries, and follow-up communications. Maintain business documentation, procedures, contact lists, shared files, and internal records in an organized and audit-ready manner. Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Product teams, Compliance, Operations, Legal, Finance, and other internal partners. Provide general administrative support appropriate to the Associate level, including travel coordination, expense support, document management, and scheduling.

Support the execution of daily operational workflows required to maintain the Customer Funding Desk's commercial activity. Coordinate closely with Operations, Middle Office, and Finance to ensure transactions are booked, settled, and reported correctly. Maintain accurate records of daily renewals, transaction bookings, and outstanding operational items.

Reporting and Business Analytics

Produce recurring management reports, dashboards, pipeline updates, and key performance indicators. Analyze sales activity, deposit balances, revenues, client trends, and business performance. Develop clear, concise, and executive-ready presentations for senior management and governance forums. Maintain reporting databases and help improve data quality, standardization, and automation. Assist with forecasting, business planning, budgeting, and periodic performance reviews.

Sales and Commercial Support

Support the day-to-day commercial activities of the Customer Funding Desk, ensuring timely execution of Business-As-Usual (BAU) processes and operational continuity. Coordinate and support the daily renewal of customer funding transactions, ensuring all renewals are processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with internal policies and client requirements. Prepare liquidity proposals, pricing materials, client pitches, and product presentations. Assist with client onboarding documentation and internal approval processes. Coordinate follow-up from client meetings and help track opportunities throughout the commercial pipeline. Conduct market, client, and competitive research to identify commercial opportunities and support business development initiatives. Support the booking of customer funding and liquidity transactions, coordinating with Front Office, Operations, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution. Monitor pending transactions, renewals, and operational exceptions, proactively following up to resolve issues and minimize execution risk. Participate in selected client meetings and internal strategy discussions to strengthen commercial, product, and client relationship knowledge.

Promote the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence tools to improve productivity, research, reporting, documentation, and workflow efficiency. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive administrative and reporting tasks using approved AI and digital solutions. Support innovation initiatives and process improvements within the Customer Funding Desk. Research emerging technologies and best practices applicable to sales, client servicing, analytics, and business management. Help develop dashboards, templates, and workflow enhancements using AI-enabled platforms and data tools.
