Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works in Rockford, IL is hiring friendly teammates to work in a fast-paced kitchen and front-of-house environment. Earn between $15.25 and $15.75 per hour plus digital tips, with a benefits package and career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include operating multiple stations, maintaining health standards, restocking, preparing sandwiches and other items, handling cash and customer inquiries, and supporting catering orders.

Qualifications

• Be at least 16 years old.
• Customer-first mindset and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a bustling kitchen; knife skills a plus.
• Able to manage allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Team player.
• Able to stand/walk at least 3 hours.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Illinois employees must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.) efficiently.
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.
