Job summary

Scheels in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a part-time Sales Associate to greet customers, assess their needs, and guide them through the purchase process. You will promote Scheels Visa, build personal sales, and maintain store presentation as part of a team committed to an exceptional customer experience.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (GED) and 1–3 months of sales experience. Schedule includes evenings and weekends, with a typical 20–25 hour week and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-3 months of sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile, to ensure they feel welcomed the moment they enter your shop.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card.
• Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and the steps of the sale to provide an above-and-beyond customer experience.
• Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing.
• Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking.
• Ability to demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft.
• Attend all required Scheels product training and all store meetings.
• Assist in the training of new associates in the areas of the store's expertise.
• Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400
• Assist in all other assigned duties by the leadership team
