Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Sales Associate to be a friendly point of contact for customers. You will help customers locate and purchase merchandise, operate the register, stock and face shelves, and keep the store clean and organized to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, basic math and cash-handling ability, and the stamina to stand and walk most of the shift. High school diploma preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to read planograms and merchandising guides.
• Basic math and cash-handling ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag merchandise.
• Follow merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
