Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is seeking a cashier to help deliver world-class customer service, operate the POS system, and manage cash handling at the Bedford, VA store. You will greet customers, assist with donations and merchandise, and maintain a clean front-end area.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and training new cashiers while supporting promotional activities and ensuring accurate pricing and documentation of transactions.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in person or by phone in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner.
• Operates the cash register or POS system to ensure accurate sales data and pricing.
• Ensure proper cash handling of all transactions including discounts.
• Maintain front of store areas clean and organized and assist with merchandising.
• Assist in training new cashiers and promote world-class service.
• Adhere to safety and security practices and report hazards.
• Support in promotions and price display activities.
