Job summary

Dollar General is hiring at-store associates to act as a front-line contact for customers, maintain plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and support storefront and sidewalk displays. You will operate the cash register, process payments, bag items, and assist with replenishment using handheld scanners.

Qualified candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, basic cash handling knowledge, and the ability to follow safety policies. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock, rotate and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and scan to total purchases; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment from customer and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays.
