Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve customers, stock and display merchandise, and assist in daily operations. You will handle cash, operate the register, and help maintain clean, organized aisles and displays across the store.

This role requires effective communication, basic math skills, and the ability to follow plan-o-gram guidance. You will work with team members to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.
• Basic math and cash handling knowledge.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store or stock on the floor.
• Build and maintain merchandise displays.
• Rotate and face products on shelves.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register, bag purchases, and provide change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep store front clean and set up sidewalk displays when needed.
