Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a Store Associate to be the point of contact for customers, stock merchandise, and maintain plan-o-grams. You will unload trucks, build displays, and assist shoppers while upholding cash handling procedures and safety guidelines.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to follow instructions, and the stamina to stand and walk frequently in a fast-paced store environment. High school diploma preferred; experience with cash registers is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restroom and stockroom.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Greet customers.
• Operate cash register and determine total; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment from customers and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays.
