Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Sales Associate to be the primary point of contact for customers. You will help customers locate and buy merchandise, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and keep the store clean, contributing to profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role involves greeting customers, handling transactions accurately, restocking and organizing merchandise, and maintaining store appearance in a fast-paced environment. Benefits and full-time schedule may apply.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as necessary.
• Follow company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
