Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an retail associate to act as the frontline contact for customers, maintain plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and support store operations. You will greet customers, operate the register, and assist with restocking and merchandising to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

This role involves frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in cash handling and customer service is valued.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and handle closing duties.
• Greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Process payments and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Prepare front-end and sidewalk displays as needed.
