Job summary

Steel Technologies seeks a Metallurgical Engineer in Kentucky to lead material selection, processing routes, and quality validation to meet customer demands. You will analyze metallurgical data, assist with corrective actions, and collaborate with sales to develop product improvements.

The role requires a BS in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering with 2–4 years of experience, and familiarity with AS/400, MS Office, and lab testing. Safety policies and a strong analytical mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical/Materials/related field with 2–4 years of experience preferred.
• Associates/Journeyman option with demonstrated competency and 2 years Steel Technologies’ experience possible.

Responsibilities

• Proper selection and design of raw material to profitably produce products for customer demands.
• Material reapplications and substitution recommendations.
• Test validation and selection.
• Process routing to achieve required properties.
• Assist in reapplication of rejected customer material.
• Perform technical evaluations of customer claims.
• Visit customers with sales to develop products and drive cost reductions.
• Review quality data for continuous improvement.
• Inspect steel during processing and monitor trial orders.
